as soon as i got home from work today, one of my favorite metal bands tweeted that they were having a contest to win tickets and meet the band at their upcoming show in october. all you had to do was find the poster for the concert somewhere in the city and take a pic standing next to it. last sunday me and some friends biked past the poster and i made a comment about it. i even thought about taking it for my room.

so, you know i just got back from biking all the way the fuck across town to go take a pic of me with this thing. task completed on day 1 of contest. pic emailed, now i just wait a month for the results....

cant believe ive been here this long. lets see...the past year i definitely didnt travel as much (thanks tax system and broken computer and new computer and camera purchases). two years ago i went to rome, salzburg, the baltic sea, czech republic, and did that huge england road tirp. but this year i only went to dresden, düsseldorf, füssen, and umm thats it i think. its been more about visiting with friends. i have lost track of how many people have visited here the past year. let's see if i can think of it

summer is over. i had to wear a jacket yesterday. im kind of pissed i didnt get to go to one of the many ghetto community pools with the big twisty slides, although i only convinced 1 or 2 people to actually go anyways. my problem from living in florida is that swimming pools and slides hold a big place in my heart. lakes and cold baltic waters can't fulfill my summer needs. it just aint the same. kind of lame that i always go back to the states in the winter so i can to go the beach or anything. i have to get down to the south of france or the canary islands or SOMETHING! and my roommate now living on a beach in spain for 7 months to study abroad is making me so jealous

this also means its time to stop being a lazy ass and get back in to work mode. going from the past 2 months of only working about 5 hours a week, back up to hopefully 16-20 hours a week. i know, it sounds ridiculous. during the summers when i have so little work, it makes me want to do nothing. its too little to have motivation to be productive. hopefully now the autumn air will set me back into motion.

i have to buy a plane ticket back to the states..as soon as i get my bill for my taxes. i definitely have to make it so i can change the date if necessary, just in case sammy gets sick or something. (hes fine now but you never know in 4 months). i guess ill go home for the same time, around the beginning of december. but i might go visit a friend in london the first weekend in december too...and we would take a train to glasgow for a pop fest. i want to go to scotland so bad and also see her so i should really do this. then i would fly back to berlin for a few days and then head out to nyc and orlando

oh yea..the best thing about fall? (besides halloween) THE FUCKIN TV SHOWS START UP. MERLIN!!!! AHHHH. and chuck bass with a cane. and oh yea i got like 4 more friends coming out this way. holy shit.
